Gateway to Beauty

The Aran Islands are a group of three islands located at the mouth of Galway Bay – and how proud we are in Doolin that our little village is the gateway to their beauty. Doolin Ferry sails daily to the Aran Islands – giving you the option of an away-day or book-in-and-stay trip, and there is a world of discovery waiting across the waters.

There are three islands – Inisheer (closest, smallest island), Inishmaan (middle island) and Inishmore (farthest, biggest island) – together measuring about 46 square kilometres. In total, there are some 1,200 inhabitants on the islands – who mainly speak Irish, but are also fluent in English.
